AISECT LTD, the Promoter Group of Six Universities in various parts of India (www.aisect.org), in collaboration with the IMS Center for Sustainability & Social Development, organized an International Symposium on “Education for Sustainable Development” on the 7th and 8th of December 2024 at the Aikyatan Hall of EZCC, Salt Lake.

AISECT LTD, the Promoter Group of Six Universities in various parts of India (www.aisect.org), in collaboration with the IMS Center for Sustainability & Social Development, organized an International Symposium on “Education for Sustainable Development” on the 7th and 8th of December 2024 at the Aikyatan Hall of EZCC, Salt Lake.

The purpose of this Symposium was to identify and analyze the effective Educational Pedagogies and Developmental Practices that can play instrumental roles in ensuring equitable and inclusive education for underprivileged children and youth of the different countries of the Global South, irrespective of gender, caste, creed, religion and different other demographic discriminating factors.

Dr. Partha Karmakar (W.B.E.S), Deputy Secretary of West Bengal Board of Primary Education, was the Chief Guest in this Symposium.

Prof. (Dr.) Sarojni Choy of Griffith University, Australia was the Principal Speaker in this Symposium.

The entire Symposium was managed by Dr. Keya Chakraborty, (Educator at Dr. B.R Ambedkar Satobarshiki Mahavidyalaya, and the Public Relations Officer of AISECT) who functioned as the Program Coordinator.

Prof. (Dr.) Sarojni Choi opined that education should not be confined to the precinct of educational institutions. Education should be fluid and resilient enough to edify and enlighten the members of the community.

Partha Karmakar affirmed that Teachers should be trained properly so that they can ensure inclusive and equitable learning for heterogeneous learners irrespective of their cognitive heterogeneity.
